I’m using this little site as a place to write about my experiments with retro computers and also with the Forth programming language. The basic idea is “What if FORTH, rather than BASIC had been the de facto computer language of the the 1980’s?” What would that have looked like? In imagining this alternate future-past, I’ve had some fun building a few retro computers and experimenting with a very good Forth called Tali Forth 2, which is written for the famous 65C02 microprocessor.
I mostly run Tali on the bundled simulator csim, but I also have a
physical retro computer, the Planck 6502, which is a
blast to play with. Nothing beats real hardware and real blinking lights
and a real sound card.
